Why mask edges can look wrong
A mask that misses the edge can leave original colors behind, while an oversized mask asks the model to rebuild unnecessary background. Let the red selection extend slightly past the object without covering unrelated areas. Use a smaller brush for thin text, wires, and hair-like details.
Troubleshooting
The result repeats nearby texture
Use a smaller selection and repair in two passes. LaMa learns from surrounding pixels, so railings, window grids, and regular text can be extended incorrectly. Remove the subject first, then repair only the visible seam.
The first repair takes longer
The first run downloads an approximately 62 MB local model. Browsers normally cache it, so later sessions are faster. Keep the page open and avoid changing networks while it loads.
A phone cannot finish
Close other memory-heavy tabs, use a smaller source image, or switch to a computer. The tool limits image dimensions, but the model still needs working memory.
How to repair the result again
Paint directly over the repaired image for another pass, or restore the original and start over. Use the comparison control to inspect edges before downloading.
Data handling
Images and masks are processed only in this browser and are not uploaded to FreeTool. The first repair downloads an approximately 62 MB LaMa model that browsers normally cache. The image, mask, and result are never sent to FreeTool servers.
