Screen Fold tips and troubleshooting

Dragging, the slider, and the auto demo
Dragging is useful while judging the effect: press the screen and move horizontally, and the angle follows the drag distance before stopping where you release. The slider is useful when a specific angle is needed, because it jumps straight to the target value. The auto demo folds and unfolds continuously, pressing the screen takes over from it, and the auto demo button pauses it.
Troubleshooting
The far half goes black near the maximum angle
Dimming to almost black near the ends is expected from the projection. Move the slider back to the center, drag the panel, or recalibrate to restore it.
Tilt control does not respond
Open the page over HTTPS and allow the permission prompt. Some browsers ask again on every visit. Hold the device still when the experience starts so it can calibrate; without sensors, use dragging or the slider instead.
The angle does not match how I hold the device
Recalibrate sets the current pose to 0 degrees. Do it again after changing your grip or rotating the screen.
Fullscreen does not open
Some browsers block scripted fullscreen requests, or restrict the capability inside an embedded frame. Use the browser's own fullscreen mode in that case; the fold effect keeps running in the page.
The exported image is dark
Export captures the current frame, so a larger fold angle produces a darker image. Move the slider back to the center first if you need a bright frame. Browsers without WebGL cannot export at all.
Known boundaries
- The fold angle runs from -78° to 78°. Near the ends the far half is almost black, which is the expected result of the perspective projection.
- Perspective, blur, and dimming use WebGL; browsers without WebGL cannot render the effect.
- Tilt control needs device sensors and HTTPS, and some browsers ask for permission each visit; without sensors, use dragging and the slider.
- Only use images you are allowed to work with. Images are never uploaded to the server.
Privacy
The scene is generated live in the browser, and any screenshot you load is only used as a texture on this device. The tool does not read your camera, microphone, or screen content, and uploads no data.
