How to use Extract Video Frame
The extracted image is a decodable frame near the selected timestamp. Timestamps, keyframes, and color conversion can differ slightly from a player display.
- Choose video and wait for duration metadata.
- Enter the extraction timestamp.
- Extract the fixed-quality JPG.
- Inspect orientation, color, and sharpness before download.
Available controls
- Timestamp; current output is fixed-quality JPG with no PNG or quality control
What it helps with
- Choose an exact cover time
- Media is read and transcoded in this browser tab and is not uploaded to FreeTool to perform the task.
Compatibility and limits
- No extraction of every frame
- Unsupported codecs or damaged timestamps fail
- HDR/wide-gamut to ordinary image can change color
