Free Answer Sheet Generator troubleshooting: print, format, and result issues
Fix pagination, scaling, fonts, generated questions, spreadsheet columns, and score-threshold problems in Free Answer Sheet Generator.
Preserve the source first
Do not overwrite the original score file, word list, or teaching material. Test with a copy and a small input before printing or exporting the final result.
Recommended troubleshooting order
- Refresh and test the default example.
- Check input count, separators, number range, or selected score column.
- For print problems, choose A4, disable browser headers and footers, and use 100% or Actual Size.
- For glyph problems, retry in a current Chrome, Edge, or Safari and confirm a suitable font is installed.
- For statistics, verify full, pass, and excellent marks; blank and text values are ignored.
Current limitations
- This first version generates sheets but does not grade photographed answers.
- Print one sample before a formal test to check page scaling.
Why human review still matters
Rule-based generation saves layout and calculation time but cannot judge the class level, formal exam policy, or a school's grading rules. Review one sample before distribution and compare the summary count and selected scores with the source sheet.
Data safety
The tool runs locally in the browser and does not require student data to be sent to a server. The downloadable anonymous summary excludes names, but it should still be stored and shared under school policy.
