What this assessment measures
Use the 30-item O*NET Mini Interest Profiler to build a six-area RIASEC interest profile.
Source and scoring design
- The 30 O*NET Mini Interest Profiler activities form six RIASEC scales of five items each, with raw scores from 0 to 20. It measures liking for activities, not mastered skill.
- Read the top two or three areas as a combination. A profile such as Investigative plus Artistic is more informative than one isolated highest score.
- Validate the combination against courses, projects, job tasks, and work environments rather than treating it as a direct occupation assignment.
How to answer
Complete all 30 items using the full response scale. Follow the time frame in the instructions, answer for your usual experience, and avoid choosing an ideal answer.

- Realistic：Hands-on work with tools, equipment, materials, or outdoor tasks.
- Investigative：Analysis, experiments, scientific questions, and understanding how things work.
- Artistic：Creation, expression, design, and open-ended work.
- Social：Helping, teaching, guiding, and supporting people.
- Enterprising：Influencing, managing, negotiating, and advancing business goals.
- Conventional：Records, data, procedures, and clearly structured tasks.
